I think there are three Harpers:
1) The idealogue who didn't mince his words before becoming the head of the Conservative Party.
2) The relatively more "moderate" (but not less partisan)one leading a minority government.
3) The less "moderate" one closer to Harper #1 who surfaces sometimes when he thinks he has a majority government (why should he have a majority in the Senate if he doesn't have one in the House of Commons?). This is the one who will likely surface if he is ever given a majority mandate. |

The real Harper cares only about remaining in power so he can continue to support the interests of big oil, the United States, and the top earners of Canada.
Would anyone like to give an over/under on the days between his retirement as leader of the Cons, to a corporate (read: lobbyist) position with a large oil company?
I'd say 200 days. Enough time for a little swan song tour before his title is more reflective of the job he currently performs. |

Didn't he previously promise not to appoint anyone to the Senate? Wasn't there something about him wanting to abolish it?
I'm no expert on the topic however; if I were Prime Minister and had plans to abolish the Senate, I would refrain from appointing people to it. I feel like it would be seen an indication of it's legitimacy or, perhaps, support for it's existence. But what do I know? |

I think D's comment is in reference to the multiple Harper posts.
In response, I would like to say; if the douchebag, I mean resident of Stornoway, ever has any power (however unlikely) to pull moves like the ones Stevey does, I will surely bring those actions to everyone's attention. Same goes with Jack & Gilles.
I might be hard on Prime Minister douchebag, but the archives show I have not let the other parties off the hook either. |
