Good News Everyone!
Futurama cast signs new deal with Fox

Wow...how much that would have blown if they replaced the entire cast....*shudders*

No Electric Car for You!
Having just watched the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car", I got to thinking: "I should buy an electric car."

I only drive within Burlington...my commute to work is approx ~2km (yes I know I can walk that...but when it's raining or snowing I need an alternate). The only other places I need to reach on a daily/weekly basis are the bank, grocery store, etc....I don't even need a good electric car, just ANY electric car.

It turns out, there is no such thing that can be bought at ANY price in Ontario. Zero options. I figured there'd be some obscure maker in Toronto who makes 1-offs or something...but literally NOTHING.

Am I the only one surprised by this? (BTW, Dalton said he was going to ease the restrictions on these types of cars in Ontario, but that was in 2007...no progress yet.)

Insurance BS
Insurance in this province is out of control. Check out this article it today's Toronto Star: Insurers drive up rates for motorists. Apparently we can expect a double digit increase in insurance prices.

Here's a gem:
Premiums are rising in the wake of investment losses and the increased demands on insurers to pay more for medical and rehabilitation services for victims of minor injuries.

Your mismanagement isn't my fault...but no problem right? I'll switch from my crappy insurer to another...
These attempts to cut losses have prompted other insurers to respond. Lombard Canada has told brokers it will impose a 25 per cent surcharge on clients moving their home insurance coverage from insurers such as Economical and Pilot.

Wait...so you're going to penalize new customers who leave your competitors? This sounds like a form of collusion so that everyone doesn't go to the cheapest company (which they will...)

Dancin' Tony's New Ride
Based on what went down in your neighborhood last night I thought this might be appropriate...

Screw Japanese imports, you might as well get a super luxury car that will allow you to continue sipping your Hennessey while you endure a barage of bullets from everything from anM-16's to an AK-47. You can get them in all varieties but I think the Bentley is the one that would look best in your driveway.

"Featuring military-grade B6-level protection, the upgrade makes this super-luxe sedan war zone-ready. With no virtually alteration to the outside appearance and adjustments to handle the extra weight without sacrificing the 552-hp engine's performance, the changes are subtle but effective: ballistic steel in the doors, pillars, overlaps and sides of the vehicle, bulletproof glass, run flat tires, an explosion-proof gas tank, kevlar flooring, and more."

It's available for only $566,000 CDN

Brandy Kills Woman With SUV, Faces No Charges, Insurance Pays Family
We discussed this back in 2007.

Apparently Moesha settled today with some of the survivors.

It looks like she got away with no charges, and that she will clear this whole thing up for a couple million.

Not bad considering Donte Stallworth of the NFL recieved a 30-day sentence for essentially doing the same thing. He will be on probation for 10 years, two years of which will be served under house arrest, and will also have to perform at least 1,000 hours of community service. On top of a multi-million dollar non-disclosed settlement with the family.

Apparently there is a big difference between a DUI and texting/talking on the phone while driving.

Amazon.com Phoney User Reviews
Sorry to clobber Pete's post with the 2nd post in a day, but I just had to write. I was checking out this "Cell2Tel" phone gateway, thinking I could use it in conjunction with VoIP to replace my expensive and not-so-great local phone service. I mean, why get screwed by Telus and Bell, when I could just get screwed by Telus, right?

Long story short: After not finding ANY user reviews on this thing, I stumbled upon a bunch on Amazon. Everyone had great things to say, except for Bill G...but maybe he's just a complainer.

A closer inspection show that's the user's of the 4 positive reviews have never given ANYTHING a bad review...and 2 of the guys (M. A. Mcduffie and Ahmad C. Hajmirsadeghi) reviewed both the odd-ball Cell2Tel gateway AND the "Haier HLT71KIT 7-Inch Portable LCD TV"....ya right guys.

I think the icing on the cake was that "Paul" reviewed a f***ing Brtia filter...I mean, COME ON HERE! NO ONE would do that without a little "incentive".

The saving grace is the one real review...the packaging sounds so terrible I almost want to buy it to see it for myself.

P.S. Pun intended in my awesome subject.

"You can see four professional looking cylinders with a post-it note covering half of the title. The best part is that it's a photo of me holding the chart I am currently holding."

Anyone Can Now Give Douchebags Parking Tickets
Sick of turning into a parking spot only to find that it is a quarter filled by 20" of some idiots IROC Z28?

I am, especially at movie theatres, time constraints and parking troubles never go well together. Now you can express your feelings without bending your key as you make it to their rear corner panel.
