"A US Airways plane crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday afternoon after striking a bird that disabled two engines."

Since the A320 only has 2 engines (located on opposite sites of the aircraft) that must have been one hell of a bird.

What started out like a movie style escape has ended badly with the fugitive in custody after attempting to take his own life.

I guess he deserves to be caught, but this started out so awesome! Who takes their private plane, fakes a crash and bails out...then hops on their stashed motorcycle (good thinking) and makes a run for it? He even got dropped off at a hotel by the cops and then quietly ran off into the woods...talk about playing it cool! It's got the hallmarks of another D.B. Cooper...if only he'd kept running!
