84% of Grade 10s pass literacy test...
...or maybe they should say 16% of grade 10s can't read.

Go ahead, take a look at the article...I'll wait.

Apparently only 80% of grade 10 boys passed the test, and that's an increase! I find it a little shocking. If that's true, then if you were to pick a random sampling of five grade 10 boys, one of them can't read...in Canada...in 2008.

I suppose those who can't pass the test, can read to some degree. I suspect these standardized tests aren't rocket science, so shouldn't they all be passing?

What a little editing can do...
Check out this "trailer" someone made for The Shining. It's amazing what a little editing can do...

No, of course not...

Creepy Kid
So I was reading CNN's website tonight when I was staring at the picture on the front page. I was staring at it for some reason, and I noticed this really creepy kid staring into the lens of the camera from the backseat of the truck. Creepy.

Creepy.

I thought I told you to clean this mess up?
If you've got some time to kill, check out the Wikipeida article on the Collyer Brothers. They were a pair of compulsive hoarders who lived in New York...the article is filled with all the goodness you'd expect from a Cat Lady story, with a special twist at the end.

Enjoy.

No more 14 year-olds for me
The raise to the age of consent has finally gone through, so the age of consent is now 16 instead of 14 like it was yesterday. There's a 5-year proximity rule, though, so don't worry: 19 year-olds can still have sex with 14 year-olds.
