In case you haven't heard, Steve Jobs won't be giving the keynote speech this year at the Macworld Expo...and rumor has it, Apple will be pulling out of Macworld all together in a few years. I haven't read it anywhere yet but it seems to make sense: Apple has made Steve Jobs their product...and there's only 1 Steve Jobs, and he's in ill health.
It's an interesting mess they're in. I think people attribute Apple's recent product successes directly to him. Once Steve is gone, the public will assume that he's taken the magic with him. (Remember the first time he left Apple? I don't...but I've heard.)
I think everyone's expecting this to be a pretty uneventful Macworld keynote, but Apple would do wise to have the new guy unleash something impressive...to let the world know that even though Steve isn't there the Apple brand is.
Time will tell.
