Rumor has it that Apple is going to unveil a mobile (or cellular) phone tomorrow (April 1st is the 30th birthday of Apple). They have a history of unveiling big products on the 1st. Maybe it'll look like this?

Jill Carroll Release

Chritian Science Monitor reporter Jill Carroll has been released by her kidnappers after 3 months. I saw a brief interview with her on the news...she spoke fondly of her captors, a little too fondly. Can you say Stockholm Syndrome? |

google maps

So I spent some time on google.com/maps and I noticed three really interesting things, in addition to Dan's Edmonton "half winter, half summer" find. If you type in Anchorage AK, and if you turn the satellite option on, you'll find a huge military base just in the north half of the city. If you look close, you can find F-15s on the runway all lined up, and some transports on another run way.
Then, if you wanted to see the cities in Japan that suffered atomic blasts, you're out of luck. Well, if you type in Hiroshima, the part of the island that makes up the city is blurred out conviently where the detonation took place. The entire city is in focus, except for that section.
In Nagasaki, the entire city is at an unfocused contrast.
Just some interesting thoughts.

Lunch break

In case you were interested in a little workplace indulgence, apparently Belgium manufacturing plants allow their workers not only to drink beer on their lunch breaks (they serve it in the canteens) but a brewery even allows workers to drink up to 6 bottles per day while they work! How can any day be a bad day at work? I'm sure the weekly taxi bill must be pretty high for the workers...

Conspiracy Theories

There's nothing to start your day like a good conspiracy. I've come across an interesting article that questions the occurrences of 9/11. Particularily intriguing is the discussion of a building known as "7 WTC", which also crumbled that day, under suspicious circumstances.

Well Google, which is it?

I found this Google Maps anomaly amusing...clearly Edmonton was photographed twice...but why? (As you can see, half the city is mid-winter, the other half is mid-summer.) |

The new dance craze

I found this video on Google Video of some people playing hackysackfootbagging. I was depressed (since I like a little hackysack now and then) that it seems once you get good at it, it's impossible for you to look cool. I sent it to a friend and he said "woah that looks like how Joel would dance", Joel being a guy we knew from elementary school.
And I realized, he's totally right. Take away the footbag, and these guys look like they're just really, really, really bad dancers. What do you think? The latest dance craze? Does anybody else know someone who dances like this? |

It would seem that Futurama is coming back to TV before it comes to DVD. According to Billy West, there are soon to be 26 new episodes in the works...and not a moment too soon. I was starting to get bored of the re-runs. ha ha |

Tap Pours Beer

Some lady in Norway got a surprise when she turned on her tap and found beer coming out. It turns out, someone in the bar downstairs hooked mixed up some pipes and hooked her water into a keg...hilarious right? Hold on a sec...who lives in an apartment where the guy downstairs can change the pipes at will? If I was this lady I'd be a little more freaked out. |

Roll-up-the-rim all the way to court

Well, I've lost all faith in humanity. A girl finds an un-rolled Tim Horton's cup in the garbage, gets her friend to help roll it up. Lo-and-behold, it's a new RAV4. Now everyone's claiming to own the cup, even the teacher of the girls... |

Micah pointed out some things to me today I didn't realize before:
- Guns don't kill people. Chuck Norris kills People.
- There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live.
- Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.
- The chief export of Chuck Norris is Pain.
- There is no chin under Chuck Norris' Beard. There is only another fist.
