R.I.D.E. 'n Dirty
I'm a strong opponent of drinking and driving. I fully agree with firm penalties for those who are caught. But what is up with the R.I.D.E. program?

Recently, I read that so far this holiday season the OPP have stopped 484,000 drivers, but only charged 219 people (although others where given some tickets or suspensions).

This kind of mass 'stop and search without cause' program seems, well, almost illegal. I'm sure the Supreme Court would disagree. But shit, they are in essence harassing, or at least annoying, half a million people to catch 220.

C'mon, what kind of success rate is that?

Do you think its worth it?

"Four guilty in Daly slaying"
5 years later, the verdict is in:
"Three Hamilton men have received automatic life prison sentences after being found guilty today of second-degree murder in the savage beating death of Burlington college student Matthew Daly.

Jurors also found a fourth man guilty of manslaughter for his role in the May 19, 2001, slayin of the 19-year-old former Assumption high school football captain."

Ray Emery Runs T'ings!
I am officially making this post my first step in the campaign to have Ray Emery play in the 2007 NHL All-Star Game.

Check out his stats here. I wouldn't be making such a push, but when I went to cast my vote like night I descovered that not only was Ray Emery excluded from the ballot (and therefore fans have to take extra time and write him in) and Andrew Raycroft is on the ballot. Give me a freakin' break. Raycroft sucks balls and if he ever skated to meet Emery at the red line he would end up with his nose on the side of his face!

So go here and write in Ray Emery for the All Star Game. If you want to see a video of Emery in the minors beating up some player, check this out.

The Simpsons Movie
I was over at thesimpsons.com today and lo and behold, there's a Simpsons movie trailer?! July 27, 2007 is (apparently) the release date.

I wish they would let the Simpsons die a dignified death. It should have been off the air a few seasons ago. (Especially now that every plot has been done and the writers have resorted to using secondary characters, like Moe and Nelson, as the basis for new material...how much lower can we go?!)

They probably should have taken a few years off before releasing a movie.

F-bomb Friendly
I found this article description on today's Toronto Star website funny:
In English Canada it is among the baddest of the bad words. And yet, it is heard almost daily on Quebec's f-bomb friendly airwaves.

Smell the ... roses?
Hello all once again.
I was reading the cbc news website today and discovered that a plane was grounded in the United States because someone lit a match onboard. I understand that they have procedures and are highly concerned with safety, but I thought simply lighting a match was not grounds for An emergency landing for said flight.

I know that is just slightly humorous, but there is more.

You must be wondering why someone ( a lady to be exact) was lighting a match on the plane. Some of you may have already guessed it, but I'll confirm it right now... It's because she farted!
