Pats Lose! Colts Win!!!
Hey!
Thank you New England for winning me another 6 Pack last night

Go Colts!

Brian

Bad luck
This is a shitty way to go...

Are you ready for some Football?

It's just about time to toss the coin for another action packed NFL season. This year the returning SuperBowl Champions, the New England Patriots will be in the hunt for a repeat of last years dominating season.

I wish them all the best for the 2004/2005 season, but they don't need luck they already have skill.

Go Pats.

To all the other teams, especially Oakland, Indianapolis, and Philly, I hope you all lose miserably, like to the Cardinals or someone.

Why not???

More gold, more silver, and the little blue cow
Well, we've finally got some gold medals, and a few more silver ones. There were a few upsets (that I'm sure you've heard about, unless you live in a cave, or the USA) but I guess that's the way it goes.

And, now's your chance to play the role of Canada's #1 athelete, the little blue cow. (You know what I'm talking about...) Click here to play.

Low Medal Count...
...who's fault is it? I just learned that the amount of funding given to our nation's athletes is deplorable. I heard that some of our teams had to buy their own uniforms for their trip to the olympics....is this for real? We wasted $2-billion dollars on a non-working, non-complete gun registry, and we can't fork over a grand to cloth the people that represent this nation? Weak. Just how bad is the state of things? Someone please enlighten me.

Silver...we're gettin' there
God bless Karen Cockburn. Today she won our country a silver medal in women's trampoline. She single handedly has moved our country away from the likes of Mongolia and Slovenia (also only having a single broze), and elevated us into a totally new class, shared with Zimbabwe and Indonesia (one bronze and one silver).

Full medal standings are available here.

Homer the Bear?
This is too good to not to post. Apparently a bear broke into some campers' cooler and drank 36 cans of beer...now the best part:

The bear fled after he came to, but when he returned the following day, wildlife officials managed to capture him using doughnuts and more beer as bait.

Sounds like Homer Simpson...doh!

Disposable Digital
Disposable Digital Cameras? Say it ain't so! Well actually, these aren't the first disposable digital cameras on the market, but they are the first ones with LCD screens! (2 Megapixel...not too shabby)

Bronze; it's better than zinc.
It looks like we finally won something!

Day 2, and still no medals
Thus far, it has not been a good olympic games for Canada. We still have no medals. Although, I guess things are just getting warmed up. Only time will tell...on a brighter note, we spanked Chinese Taipei in baseball, 7-0.

Ryan Head wins Olympic Medal?
Does anyone else who went to Assumption high school think the guy in the middle of this picture looks like Ryan Head?

Olympics
Well the Olympics have hardly begin and scandal is already afoot. You see, some Greek track stars have missed their doping tests because they were in a (very convenient) motorcycle accident. You be the judge...especially you Kennith Jim.

Also, I added CBC's olympic headlines to the news for the duration of the Olympics.

Car Stripping
On my way to work today, through my quiet neighborhood, I was surprised to find 2 police cars at the end of my street. A closer inspection of the house they were parked at yielded a distraught woman in a house coat, and an Acura with no wheels. Someone had stolen the wheels right off this car...who does that in Burlington???

The car had a jack on one side, and what looked like a box supporting the other. The front and rear wheels were gone and the front end of the car was touching the ground, putting the back end way in the air, like a 'teeter totter'. Is this a wake up call for our growing city?

Clear Toilet
I received this in my inbox today and thought I'd post it since there's not much else going on.

It's a public toilet from Switzerland, it's made of one way glass. From the outside, it looks like a box made of mirrors, from the inside, it looks like you're dumping right in the middle of the street (which you are, BUT, what a view!).

So...would you use it?

Ford Hybrid
Today Ford annouced their first commercial Hybrid (Gas/Electric) vehicle...it's a Ford Escape. Go learn more about it here.

Also, Windows XP Service Pack 2 has been released at last. This service pack is apparently a huge security overhaul of Windows (and it breaks 3% of applications).

CBC Headlines
I just got an e-mail from CBC...they say the headlines will load a heck of a lot faster now, which means this page will load a heck of a lot faster now.

Also, Doom 3 is finally out. I've seen it with my own eyes, and it's pretty damned impressive.

Skype
Well, the only thing I couldn't do with Linux, I can now do. Skype is available for Linux. Install is a piece of cake (I recommend using the available RPMs). For those of you who haven't checked it out, it lets you have voice conversations over the net. Set up is simple and the interface is similar to most regular IM programs (such as MSN or ICQ).
