The Simpsons

Hello Fox? Yes...where's your common sense?!?!?!
Could someone please tell me why the Halloween special for the Simpsons is going to air next week (Nov 7th) rather than Oct 31 (a.k.a. Halloween)!!! Halloween finally lands on a Sunday, and Fox doesn't capitalize...and rather than run it a week early, it runs a week late. When's the Christmas special going to be? February???
Also, this week's trivia question: What is the caption on the painting in the Simpson's living room? |

If you thought Don Cherry being in the top 10 list for Greatest Canadian was bad, you may want to skip this story and save yourself a headache. Turns out Mr. Cherry is currently ranked #2 on the list. |

OUA Update

The Western Mustangs defeated the York Lions today by 30+ points (51 to 18 I think). Next weekend we'll be facing off agaist Mac in Hamilton at 1PM.
On another note: York seems to have changed their team name from the Yeomen to the Lions....I guess no one knew what a Yeomen was so they decided to pick something a bit scarrier:
"Yeoman" is an antiquated term for farmers, tradesmen and other members of the early English middle class. The term suggests someone upright, sturdy, honest and trustworthy. ( Wikipedia)
Hahaha...the "York Farmers"... |

Here's a little piece of Simpson's Trivia I dug out of an episode today:
What floor is Mr. Burns office on?
The first correct answer gets a handshake (and possibly a beer if you live close enough) from me. |

Doom 3 Movie

You know what's a bad idea? Taking a video game, and making a movie out of it. (Think of Resident Evil, or better yet, Super Mario Bros for those who can remember the movie.) And guess what's next in line to be a box office bomb? The Doom movie. Why why why? The game was good, don't ruin a good thing! |

Football FYI: The Mustang's won their final game of the regular OUA season for a 3rd place finish. That means we'll be playing York (6th place) here at UWO next week. They're the only team we didn't play in the regular season this year...how did we fair against them last year? I forget. Someone remind me.

Casualites in Iraq

It's a good thing for the American's they don't count non-US military deaths in Iraq, because things would look ALOT worse.
More than 700 Iraqi police and military personnel have been killed in the last 6 months! Personally, I feel this is one of the biggest deceptions about the war in Iraq. How many civilians have died? I had no idea (until I read that article) that so many Iraqi police officers had been killed. |

The Greatest Canadian

I'm sure most of you are aware that CBC is running a series called 'The Greatest Canadian.' So, who do you think the greatest Canadian is?
Personally, I think it's got to be either David Suzuki or Terry Fox. Of course, I'm biased as they lived in (or at least near) my time. Don Cherry on the other hand? Let's be serious. What has HE done to be considered the greatest Canadian? He's a good TV personality, but has he bettered this country or others? Next up, Wayne Gretzky. I mean seriously, he's a good Canadian, but the greatest Canadian?
Lastly, Avril Lavigne, she's not in the top 10, but word on the street is she made it into the top 100...people, she's not that great, not even close! AND in 2 years, no one will remember her. |

Same sex rights?

The CBC is running a news article right now entitled: " Anglican report calls for apology over gay bishop." The image above the story is:
Is this really an issue of rights? Hardly. Why does the media make every issue surrounding the gay community an issue of rights? |

Okay, so I missed the 3rd, and final, presidential debate last night...did I miss anything important? Who won? Did GWBush do anything that's going to make it into the history books, or better yet, onto bushisms.com? |

First crappy helicopters, now crappy subs
Posted By: Dan

The Liberial government has done it again. Not only does our armed forces have the world's crappiest helicopters (just search for Sea-King on google and I'm sure you'll find lots of wonderful tales of woe), but we also have 4 used submarines, which are all lemons, and unfortunatly cost 1 Canadian his life.
To add insult to injury, it looks like our armed forces also has the worst communication in the world. After reporting to the sailor's family that everyone onboard was safe and in no harm, he died of his injuries.
If these problems aren't a good indication that our armed forces need more funding, then I don't know what is.
 The HMCS Lemon...it's probably sinking.
The HMCS Scrap...sold to us by the Brits with a big dent in the hull. Thanks England! |
